Supporting the regulation
of practical nurses in Canada.

Founded in 2004, the Canadian Council for Practical Nurse Regulators// Conseil canadien de réglementation des soins infirmiers auxiliaires provided provincial organizations whose provincial and territorial members are identified in legislation responsible for the safety of the public through the regulation of Licensed/Registered Practical Nurses a forum to discuss and collaborate on issues and initiatives relevant to the regulation of practical nurses.

The initial mandate of the CCPNR/CCRSIA was to promote excellence in practical nursing regulation by demonstrating leadership, best practice and innovation.

Representatives of ten practical nurse regulatory authorities in Canada were the first members of the CCPNR/CCRSIA.

Since 2004, the CCPNR/CCRSIA has expanded its membership and has collaborated on a number of pan-Canadian initiatives involving other health care professionals including the Registered Nurses and Registered Psychiatric Nurses.
